Original press photograph showing the American pianist waving among confetti, during one of the
parades given for him after he won the first International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, at the height of the Cold War. On his return, the pianist rode in the back of a convertible through the streets of NY and other major cities and was greeted by thousands of adoring fans. Original press caption on the verso dated May 24, 1958. Slight wrinkling and a few scuffs; overall in fine condition. 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.5 cm).
