~ Maintenance Manual
This is a quality
reprint
of US Army Manual TM9 819.
Originally published in January, 1952 it is the early manual for the 2.5 ton truck which replaced the WWII CUCV. This is from the gasser era. If you are rebuilding or running an early post war Deuce you need this manual.
From the Manual:
1.
Scope
a. These instructions are published for information and guidance of the personnel to whom this materiel is issued. They contain information on the operation and organizational maintenance of the materiel as well as descriptions of major units and their functions in relation to other components of the materiel.
b. The appendix contains a list of current references; including supply catalogs forms, technical manuals, and other available publications applicable to the materiel.
c. This manual differs from TM 9-819, dated 20 June 1950, as follows:
1.
Adds information on 2/-on 6 x 6 cargo trucks ~36 and M36; chassis trucks M44, M45, and M46; crane truck M108; dump trucks M47 and M59 gasoline tank truck M49; shop van truck M109; tractor truck M48; crater tank truck M50.
2.
Revises information on 2 ½ ton 6x6 cargo truck M34.
d. In general the prescribed organizational maintenance responsibilities will apply as reflected in the allocation of tools and spare parts in the appropriate columns of the current ORD 7 supply catalog pertaining to this vehicle an in accordance with the extent of disassembly prescribed in this manual for the purpose of cleaning, lubricating, or replacing authorized spare parts. In all cases where the nature of repair, modification, or adjustment is beyond the scope or facilities of the using organization,
the supporting ordnance maintenance unit should be informed in order that trained personnel with suitable tools and equipment may be provided or other proper instructions issued.
The pictures are very usable and not washed out or too dark like many of the manuals I have seen that from copy machines.
This is laser printed on 24 pound paper.
Copy paper is generally 20 pound and you can feel the difference.
It is bound with GBC plastic combs so that it will lay flat.
If you would like I can, rather than bind with the plastic comb, three hole punch it for your binder.

If you are collecting military manuals or looking for a prop to display at your next show, this is not the manual you want.
If you want some usable information on the Deuce that will lay flat on your bench when you are working on your pride and joy or some period information on how it was done back forty years ago while you curl up in front of the fire this winter, this is the one you need.
