Presented in this lot is an extremely rare original early Odd Fellows wood and galvanized or tinned steel trade sign and other assorted memorabilia. Wood sign is wired for light bulbs thus probably dating it from 1930-1950s? The metal is strongly magnetic but does not have rust hence I assume it’s galvanized steel or tin coated steel.
Sign has some splits in the wood as shown in the pictures, there is also a small piece of wood missing in one link as shown in picture. Missing piece is about 1.5” by 3”. These minor defects do not affect the ability of the sign to be hung or otherwise displayed. lights and wiring would need to be restored and rewired before operation.
These items all came from the Lancaster NY loyal lodge chapter of the odd Fellows society and have been in our collection for the last 40 years.
The large wood sign measures about 5 ft long, 2 ft high and about 6 inches wide. It once adorned the building located on 25 Lake St in Lancaster NY.
Lancaster is only 10 miles outside of Buffalo, NY.
This sign is extremely rare and I’ve never seen another in years of collecting.
Other associated memorabilia from the Lancaster lodge include a framed members picture, a sash. various pamphlets and by laws and, also, the original member book with photos. Also included is an old odd Fellows checkbook.
The members book is very rare and dated 1900 and measures 17” long, 13” wide and 2.5” thick. There are several photos of lodge members included in the book.
The framed photo is dated 1907 and frame measures 20” by 17”.
This sign and associated pieces would be a signature piece in a serious odd Fellows collection.
I will not break up the lot as I’d like to sell everything together.

This sign and books will be well packaged and will be shipped via UPS. The shipping box measures 63” by 33” by 8” and total weight is approximately 50 lbs.
