Back of mug reads:  GOLDEN RETRIEVER   The Golden Retriever originated in mid-19th century England, and is thought to be the result of crossing bloodhounds with golden-coated Russian circus dogs.  One of the world's most beautiful dogs, the Golden Retriever is very intelligent as well.  On the job it is a hard-working hunter, and at play a gentle companion eager to please.
