ENZO MASCHERINI SIGNED PHOTO,"To Robert McNabney, Sincerely, Enzo Mascherini, 1949", 8 x 10, b/w, black ink, vintage M. Camuzzi Dello photo, of Italian baritone in costume as Giorgio Germont in Verdi's La Traviata, at Teatro Della Scala. Corner creases and some hard to see striation lines, otherwise in fine conditon.
Enzo Mascherini (1910-1981)
was one of the leading baritones of his generation. He made his debut at Teatro alla Scala in 1940 and after WWII he began an international career, appearing at all the major opera houses around the world, including a debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 1949. He appeared in two legendary performances opposite Maria Callas in the early 1950's. He taught voice in Florence after retiring from the stage.
