    Description

You are bidding on an unusual large (9-1/4" x 11-1/2") SEPIA photograph of ALBERT SPALDING (1888-1911) American violinist.
The portrait is glued to a 1/16" backboard. The upper right hand corner is clipped. The inscription and musical quotation is of 4 measures consisting of eighth notes in 2/4 time at the bottom of photograph.
"Best wishes ____(Monmouth Beach, 1911." The name of the dedicatee is missing. The "Mon," was the summer home of James Walter Spalding, co-founder of A.G. Spalding & Bros sports equipment.
Albert Spalding's signature at right bottom corner is missing the "g." Underneath the signature is the "London" address of photographer.
Albert would be 23 years of age at the time of this photograph. An unusual find in this size.
The photo is in very fine matte finish with a few blemishes but no creases or holes.
